Ordskyer ("Wordle", "Tag Clouds") has many designations or names and very many applications. In teaching, it is interesting to try out several activities with ordskyene. Sometimes it is the teacher who makes the clouds, other times each student. Maybe we can get a good learning activity in this way? Some goals may be: good use of ICT for academic learning cooperation job
So far I have enjoyed creating nameplates and ordskyer of student texts. But there are many more opportunities that must be tested. Wordle as a student assignment in a subject and that ordskyen is a basis for further work, for example. Moreover, it is exciting to try out different program that can produce such clouds. I've tried them you will find listed at the bottom of the article. Here are some examples of how I have used cloud in schoolwork: 1. Nameplate nexus
A sheet with names of group / class participants. One on the outside of the door, one inside, one at each place in the classroom where it is natural, one on the class page on the learning nexus platform etc. We stock ordskyen very easily by copying from the digital class list (which may exist in Word format, etc ?) and paste in the software.
Attentive readers will see that there are 10 girl names and boy names in 10 ordskyen. I copied them from a list of most popular names in 2013. I found the list on this page: http://www.babyverden.no/Gravid/Diverse/Navn/Navnetoppen-2013 2. Ordsky of student texts
We simply copy the entire student text and paste it into eg. Wordle. Eleven gets a ordsky as "receipt" on a job well done with his text. Texts writes one might in all subjects, so the learning potential is then. When students look at the words that are "filtered" out, this will serve as a fine and specific feedback on the quality of the text. In Norwegian art may ordskyen be an indicator of good language use. One gets the impression vocabulary. By studying ordskyen closer one can list and sort words by parts of speech or otherwise.
The method also works if you create a ordsky of such texts in the group. Then paste we enter all texts in turn. (Yes, there are many words! But it goes just fine in Wordle, at least.) The words in the cloud is then a collection of the words used most in these texts in total. If this was a technical text (scientific article) nexus where all had the same theme, nexus the word probably be good keywords that can be used in after work. List and explain all technical terms in the cloud, so you can view the topic!
Learning in language history: nexus - facts about the language debate Learning ICT usage in the subject: nexus - privacy and copyright - Internet search and source criticism - create digital nexus presentation Goals for scriptwriting: -Write and process text, -use instruments tasks to be considered: Digital presentation (composed text as a multimedia product) and text response nexus task (longer text)
Here are some of the work to be performed within three weeks. There are goals that would go on the facts of language history. Other learning objectives is about showing that you can use ICT in a mature manner. There are two work students must submit nexus for review. One task is "multimodal"; students should present the facts in terms of image, sound and text. Any verbal text must either be read or written into the presentation, for example. between images.
To explain the task, I copied the whole deal into a ordsky and used it as the basis for explaining concepts (which it is not getting off ...). A straightforward method here is to first pick out handlingsverbene and discuss them with students. Thus ordskyen nexus (with Wordle)
Here we try a website called Word it out. This site has unfortunately much advertising, but using direct link http://worditout.com/word-cloud/make-a-new-one avoid any of it. You require an email address to download nexus ordskyen as a file; you receive the image as an attachment to the email. The theme is mathematics lower secondary level and learning objectives for 10.trinn in statistics, probability and combinatorics. We just have to initiate sorting action verbs, key concepts etc. And not least ensure that core concepts are part of the oral and written work in class!
Tagul.com is surely a good product that makes good cloud. But here there is some limitations. Among other you must create an account or login with your Google account or otherwise. In addition there are some disturbing text on the screen. Sources and references
